Terms, without the fog.

These terms cover using this website and working with us. The short version: nothing binds either of us until there is a written proposal we have both agreed to, and that proposal governs the work.

Work happens under a written proposal

We do not start work on a handshake. Every engagement begins with a fixed written proposal that sets out the scope, the price, the timeline, and what we need from you. It is agreed before any payment is made, and it governs the project. Our standard split is half to start and half at launch, and your proposal states it plainly. If the proposal and this page ever disagree, the proposal wins.

The prices published on this site are starting anchors, not quotes. They tell you honestly what a project of that shape usually begins at so you can decide whether to talk to us at all. Your actual price is the number in your proposal.

Who owns what

Ownership of the work we deliver — the design, the code we wrote for you, the content we produced for you — transfers to you when you have paid for it in full. Until then it remains ours. This is not a trap; it is simply the point at which ownership moves.

Open-source libraries, fonts, and any third-party components in your project keep their own licences, which carry on applying to both of us. Our own internal tooling, and the general techniques and know-how we bring to the work, stay ours to use on other projects.

Showing your work publicly

We ask before we publish anything about a project — your name, screenshots, results, a case study. Permission is never assumed and never buried in a contract clause. If you would rather we said nothing, we say nothing, and that decision costs you nothing.

What we are responsible for

We will do the work described in your proposal competently and on the schedule we agreed, and we will tell you early if something is going to slip.

If something goes wrong, our total liability for an engagement is capped at the fees you have actually paid us for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost data, lost business opportunity — beyond that cap. This is the ordinary limit for work of this size, and it is stated here rather than hidden.

Websites depend on services we do not control: hosting, domain registrars, email providers, payment processors, analytics. We will choose them carefully and help you when they fail, but we cannot warrant their uptime.

Using this website

The words, design, and code of this site are ours. You are welcome to read it, quote it with attribution, and link to it. Our published research is explicitly free to cite with attribution — that is why we publish it. Do not copy the site wholesale and present it as your own.

The information here is offered in good faith and kept accurate, but it is general information about how we work, not advice for your specific situation. That conversation is what the call is for.

Where this applies

BuildRocket Labs is operated by Raitakarya Technologies Pvt Ltd, based in Bengaluru, India. These terms are governed by Indian law, and the courts of Bengaluru have jurisdiction over any dispute. If we work with you elsewhere, your proposal can say otherwise, and it takes precedence.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes. Changes are not retroactive: the version in force when your proposal was signed is the one that governs your project.
